Reader's Block

I'm still reading a book called The New Kid, which is YA paranormal, and I'm enjoying it. But I'm just not terribly interested in reading right now. The book itself has an interesting premise- the hero of the story has just moved to a new town with his mother and step-father. His step-father keeps warning him to not cause trouble at the new school, and of course he says he'll do his best. Meanwhile, large boxes have been delivered to the basement, and it's a big secret what is in them.

His mother seems completely oblivious to what is going on under her nose. The step-father seems to actively dislike the hero. As "The New Kid," he is naturally the target for the school bullies, and is also naturally attracted to the hottest girls at the new school.

But, of course, since it *is* high school, and I've already said it's paranormal, something BAD is about to happen. I'm at the point where the hero has made a few friends, and has just revealed- for the first time ever- that he is the son of a long line of demon fighters, and when he was younger, his father disappeared, right before his very eyes!

So, of course he is now on a mission to find his father and vanquish the big bad nasty guy that kidnapped him.

The story is *much* more interesting than I've made it sound. I just don't feel like reading lately. This is especially bad right now, since I'm getting ready to start my Smut-A-Thon reading challenge in a week.

Speaking of which, here is a link the form to submit books read for the challenge: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFNKcHVGRWtrS254cDZRS1h2bVhVVFE6MQ
